What a Birthday!

Birthday = fun and celebration=Dancing, sushi, jazz, and soccer.

The night of my birthday four friends accompanied me to Casino Fiesta- yes it was a Casino but it had a blocked off area with a dancing floor and a live band. I got some good dances in with my friends and with Manuel( a guy from Spain who had been living in Costa Rica for the past two years) He proceeded to dance with each of us, such a gentleman, and he threw in quite a few twirls that I had so much fun! We ended the night by taking the Taxi home- our ears ringing from the loudness of the band( which i thoroughly enjoyed due to the blaring trumpet, saxophone, and clanging cowbell:). The following day we got manicures then went to a free jazz concert on campus. The music was good, it seemed wrong though to be sitting and listening, i wanted to get up and move around to the music. Then we enjoyed some sushi just down the street in one of the plazas, boy was it delicious! My host family wished me a good life filled with blessings and sang cumpleanos feliz before I blew out my two candles saying 21! I finished off the weekend with a crazy soccer game between the two most rival teams in the area- la liga and Saprissa. The group we stood with was the cheering mob so they had quite the colorful language and were passionate about everything. After being forced to stand sideways smashed into the person in front of me, and trying to stay on my feet( because of pushing from behind) Two of us decided that we actually wanted to see the soccer game so we scooched down the stadium a bit. Was I glad! We had an excellent view of the almost goal that was stopped by a player mid air doing a bicycle kick right on the goal line in the air , wow, it was incredible!

Thanks for all the Birthday wishes, and cards! I definitely felt the love:)
