What a Monday Looks like

Six a.m
wake up to light streaming through window
lay in bed for a few minutes, contemplate going for a run
decide to emerge from bedroom to venture over to the restroom
return, decide no on the run and yes to some reading
Get distracted doing hair, decide to get dressed
Sit on bed, talk to God some, read book about women in Costa Rica
Take notes for the next hour

8 a.m
Go down stairs to eat
Talk to Helen about Panama while we eat b-fast
She tells me about her hurt wrist- learn some new vocab words
find my host mom scrubbing the bathroom floor already
pet the mean dog until she starts growling at me
wait behind the gate for the bus to come
sit on bus and zone out for fifteen minutes
get off and walk for fifteen minutes through downtown and across campus to my first class

10 a.m
cross bridge stop and talk to friends- what are we doing this weekend?
continue to class, learn about when to use que and and quien
get out of class, rush over to the microwave to stand in the usually really long line to heat up food
find a spot to camp out and chow down
walk over to library to renew books
prepare for five hour art history class

1 p.m
Walk to class, stop by other classroom to pick up chair because there are none in my Art History class
pick a spot, listen to my professor and absorb as much as possible
really loud rain and thunder make me jump out of my seat a few times
friend next to me explains this is nothing compared to the rain that comes in october
the lights go out in our classroom
professor hands out some old magazine talks about Costa Rican identity
still in the semi dark waiting for lights
decides to let us go

4 p.m
Read emails, do homework, try to stay dry
go to ECU meeting
listen to some cool music on campus soccer field
walk to bus stop, take bus home
greated by little cousins playing avoid getting hit by the bing bag game
talk to host mom, eat dinner next to host dad, get informed with either soccer news or world news( whichever one he´s watching)
dedicate rest of the night drawing a bird perch and a piece of paper on the ground

This is my Monday, not too exciting but I always want to know what other people are up to day to day, so I thought I´d fill you in on one of my days:)

  3. what an amazing day.. it's seem so chill compared to life over here, wish i could escape this madness and join you in your tropical rain. (i sure miss that stuff) cas compared me to a poor animal who is running from it's predator, today, in regards to me and my relationship with homework. sad life. miss you. i'll write you more formally later.
p.s. bing bag. i always thought it was bean bag, but i like the ring.
